The City of Aarhus will, in cooperation with Realdania and Realea A/S, build the most innovative parking facility in Denmark at Aarhus Harbour. The facility will become the first automatic car park in Aarhus and will offer space for 1000 cars. The car park will be Europe’s largest automatic parking facility.

The City of Aarhus, Realdania and Realea A/S invite all citizens to participate in the construction of the new Mediaspace and Urban Waterfront. The kickoff meeting takes place on Monday 14 September 2009 from 19.30 to 21 at the Town Hall.

From Monday 9 March, everyone can see the winning project for New Central Urban Waterfront Spaces and Mediaspace at the Main Library in Aarhus. On 3 March it was revealed that schmidt hammer lassen architects and Architect Kristine Jensens Tegnestue have won the competition to build the new central urban waterfront spaces and Mediaspace in Aarhus.

The architectural firm schmidt hammer lassen architects and Architect Kristine Jensens Tegnestue have won the prestigious competition to design Mediaspace and new central urban waterfront in Aarhus. It is a comprehensive and epochal project which will form Aarhus in the future at the spot where the city was first established during the viking age.

The future Mediaspace in Aarhus will become an icon for Aarhus as a modern, internationally oriented city of knowledge. Citizens and visitors of the city will have an open and attractive meeting place with state-of-the-art access to knowledge and influence. The ambitions are sky-high, the preparations are comprehensive, the inspiration is gathered from all over the world, and the citizen involvement is unique.
