The evaluation committee has chosen three equal winners of the first phase of the competition. The selection of winners follows an intense evaluation process. A total of six teams participated in the very complex competition on designing Mediaspace and the new central urban waterfront in Aarhus.

An important milestone in the largest city development project in the City of Aarhus’ history was reached on 25 June 2008 when the six competing teams submitted their proposals for the design of a new central urban waterfront and Mediaspace in Aarhus.

On 19 May, Mediaspace’s Strategy- and Concept Group went on a study tour in Southern Jutland, more precisely to Nicolai in Kolding and Alsion in Sønderborg. The following week, the group visited Hjørring in Northern Jutland, where the new library was inaugurated in April 2008.

On 22 April a public meeting was held in the hall of the City Hall about the project New central urban waterfront and Mediaspace in Aarhus. The approximately 200 people attending the meeting had the opportunity to hear about the visions for the project and, not least, hear presentations from the competing teams themselves. It was an evening with high ambitions, many photos and great visions for the future.
